NAA is not only protecting families, they are helping families in need. Throughout the year, NAA contributes to a program called Angel Food Ministries.

Angel Food Ministries is a church-based food program which provides boxes of food to families for a fraction of the price. NAA has supplied the program with boxes for over 2 years now.

“It saves us a lot of time and money to come here and pick up all the supplies we need in one swoop,” says Angel Food Ministries volunteer, Hank Groom. “Usually we’d have to beg stores for them, but we stop by here now.”

“We decided to help because of NAA’s dedication to public service,” said Diane Reagan of NAA. “It’s also a good way of recycling some of our supplies.”

“I met a guy who drove from Maryland until 4a.m. who is fired up about NAA, he’s not licensed yet. Andy Albright, NAA’s President and CEO, brings that kind of excitement, it’s what NAA is. Exciting.” said Misty Thebeau, NAA’s Director of Communications.

Even veteran agent and agency manager, Patrick Connors arrived to the meeting at 7a.m to get his front row seat.

“Seeing Patrick arrive so early reminds us that NAA is a different kind of company. Years of working with NAA and Patrick is still fired up and ready to go!” said Thebeau.

Among the speakers for the 2 day event was agency manager Paul Roberts. Paul had this to say about working for NAA, “The beautiful thing about NAA is that we all help each other.”

“What we do is important, I affect people’s lives.” said Roberts.

Almost 200 agents traveled to attend the 2 day base shop training meeting which covered the basics of what NAA is all about.

Alamance Community College approached NAA’s President and CEO, Andy Albright for a donation to the college. Albright was thrilled to give back to the education community here in Alamance County.

Each year Alamance Community College holds a reception to personally thank their donors and match them with students their donation has helped.

“Seeing some of the students and hearing about where they want to go in their future really puts the donation in perspective. It’s not just a gift, it affects several lives and NAA is more than happy to contribute to hard working students.” said Misty Thebeau, NAA’s Director of Communications.

NAA has participated in other events for the daycare throughout the year. Lifespan is a child development center that neighbors NAA across the street.

NAA staff partook in dressing up in costumes while handing out treats to the children. “The children are invited over here for treats, but the NAA staff truly benefits from seeing the happy faces of the kids.” said Misty Thebeau, NAA’s Director of Communications.

A gathering of leaders rallied at the NAA headquarters to discuss how a 90 day push can grow the agencies and double up production. Several managers spoke of getting back to the basics of being a leader and the principles of the company.

A shift in focus is what elevated agency managers, Jason and Tawny Carey of CA, Mark Womack of FL, and Kirk and Peggy Falk of MD to growth in a span of 90 days.

NAA’s National Director of Sales, John Kight also got back to basics by asking, “What takes longer, the foundation or the house?” He continued, “Leadership starts with you.”

Leads are now delivered directly from NAA’s web and telemarketing systems to cell phones of agents out in the field. Internet and phone consumers expect fast answers and fast service. Agents of NAA will also benefit by now having the ability to help protect more families in less time.

The launch of Predestined Leads includes: web, call-in, and telemarketing leads within minutes of their creation to the hands of the agent.

“Set yourself up for success, define your schedule. Are you attacking with intensity?” said Carey.

A six-figure earner, Carey intensely trained new agents on how to handle the phones, set appointments and how to become organized for success.

“Clear distractions and find a mentor,” he advised. Carey is just one of many six-figure income ring earners within the company.

NAA agents were also given lessons of how to expand their business based on Dick Jenkins principles that he used to grow his organization to be the largest of its kind.

“Always enjoy your job/role in the company or get a new one,” said Jenkins. Jenkins’ positive principles and think tank methods go hand in hand with the outlook of NAA’s President and CEO, Andy Albright.

Over 1,400 of NAA’s agents received Jenkins message of how to focus on growth for their business at the 2008 Leadership Conference held in Raleigh, N.C.

The annual leadership conference offers training skills and teaches NAA agents how to become leaders. Dick Jenkins was one of the key note speakers chosen to speak this year.

EMF Broadcasting Networks Founder and CEO Dick Jenkins announced that he will be leaving the organization effective October 1, 2008. Mike Novak will take over Jenkins position. Jenkins was appointed CEO of EMF Broadcasting in September of 2007 after serving as president since 1986. Jenkins said he has no immediate plans but is looking forward to new opportunities and challenges.

Burlington, NC - In a time of financial uncertainty, two companies are making their names known in Burlington. Marketing and Sales firm National Agents Alliance and Smith Rentals Inc. were named in the top 10 of The Business Journal’s Fast 50 for the second year in a row. The Fast 50 is a yearly measuring stick for companies that have displayed tremendous growth and innovation in the Triad.

NAA’s President CEO, Andy Albright, was thrilled at the news. “This is great news for our staff throughout the country. It’s good to see them get some recognition.” Rodney Smith, President of Smith Rentals Inc., was equally excited. “This is the fourth year that we were named in the Fast 50. We hope to continue to grow our company in the future.”

NAA remained adaptive by diversifying its lead production and branching out into the internet to find people who are going through major life changes, such as retirement, taxes, college tuition, and much more. Smith sees the drop in housing rates as an opportunity to buy undervalued housing by adding real value to the property. “We provide affordable housing to those who can no longer buy homes,” says Smith. “It’s a good opportunity for people.” The innovative vision of both companies has led to rare growth in a time of recession.

Both Smith and Albright are natives to the Burlington area. Smith says, “Being in the middle part of the state, we can drive to all our property within a day. We’ve got a staff of good people here.” Albright has lived in other areas, but he keeps returning to the Triad: “I grew up in Burlington and travelled across the country. Although I’ve lived in other locations, this area is my favorite.”

As for the future of Burlington, “I’d like to see more manufacturing to replace the recent jobs lost. There are good people here in the Carolinas,” says Smith. Albright echoes this positive outlook: “I see steady growth in the future; Burlington is the corridor to the USA.” If other companies in the area follow in Smith Rentals Inc. and NAA’s success, the future certainly looks bright.

McClary spoke of not giving up and begged the question, “What are you going to do with your day?” He also encouraged agents to put a date on their dreams in order to make them achievable goals.

NAA has invited McClary to speak at several events in recent years. His teachings on perseverance and sustaining the pace of goals coincide with the views of NAA owners, President and CEO Andy Albright, Vice President Philip Hudgins, and Secretary and Treasurer Barry Clarkson.

“The people you associate with will influence your life, as well as what you read and watch,” said McClary.

After speaking at the conference, McClary stayed to sign autographs and take photos with the agents.
