A dynamic duo, Jason and Tawny Carey are proof that teamwork and execution brings success. Jason and Tawny Carey grew up in Apple Valley, CA. Jason attended the University of Phoenix with a bachelors in business management. For 7 years, Jason served in the army and then became a mortgage broker. Tawny was a chef.
The couple was making a decent income until a hard winter hit them. For 3 months they had no income coming in and were close to losing everything they had. In April of 2006, Jason saw an ad on Monster.com for NAA. He was looking for stability in a mortgage market that they knew would be turning for the worst.
"I started working with NAA on a very part-time basis to add extra income. I was given some free leads. I did it on a part-time basis until one day I looked up and saw that it had overtaken my mortgage broker income. After that we went for it 100%."
Tawny was skeptical at first, having worked for American General Finance about 8 years ago and sold insurance only earning about 25K as one of the top earners with little bonus.
"I called her up to let her know I had made a sale with a $250/month of premium and I just said I made $1,500 in an hour. What do you think of it now?!" She replied, "I guess we should buy more leads!"
Jason and Tawny Carey have now worked their way out of debt, bought a new BMW 5 Series, and are taking the vacations of which they had never dreamed.
The Carey's attribute their success with NAA to being coachable. "We are on every conference call, at every meeting and conference and read more books than we ever have. We also work hard every day and get up never taking anything for granted."
Jason and Tawny advise new agents to do what your upline tells you and to work your tail off to accomplish your dreams. "Get over your ego, your problems, your fears and just commit to it with unwavering determination."
After attending the Leadership conference a few years back, Tawny knew NAA was where they belonged. "Jason had really wanted to meet Robert Wallace and talk to him about traveling methods and how he was doing it. I can hardly explain how sincere, welcoming and inviting he was. And the fact that he took time with us and treated us as if we were one of his own agents, with respect and care. This is truly the heartbeat of NAA, a different way of doing things, a different way of caring for people and a better way to make some great money.
